氣味 Smelling

手洗的衣服散發出香皂味道。

在熱燙陽光下曬白色床單。若把臉輕伏在裡面，如同沉浸在一桶熱水中。呼吸它的暖氣，身心俱碎。

陌生女子擦肩而過，髮絲清掃過臉頰，散發出洗髮水櫻草淡香。

走廊裡人家廚房做菜的氣味，油煙和食物混雜，蘿卜醬油肥肉燉在一起的富足。在冬日寒冷灰暗的黃昏，顯得厚實。

富穿過的圓領衫領口，屬於他的味道不會消退。

童年夏日午後，暴雨停歇，大地散發出泥土和植物的腥味，十分辛辣。

男子耳朵後面皮膚上散發出來的味道，每個人都是不同的。包括他們脖子上的皮膚。

愛在停留的時候，它的氣味融合置身其中的人。而當他們分離的時候，又回復自身的存在。對方的氣味是印證自我的參照。氣味是遺忘的證據。

布料上散發出來的氣味。草地被割草機修剪後的氣味。

冬天深夜凜冽空氣的氣味。

孩子身上母乳的氣息。嘴唇裏薄荷的氣味，天生的清新口氣。

月光下夜霧的氣味。

花朵的氣味。雪後臘梅，夏夜荷塘，一切白色的花香，茉莉，玉蘭，梔子，玉簪，曇花。它們的香氣各成體系。萬事萬物，沾染著塵埃風霜，卻是和諧的天地。

年老的人，身上會散發連自己也未曾覺察的氣味，如同潮濕樹幹上面生長的苔蘚，只有湊近它們的人，才能聞到那股味道。年少清新的身體，使人感覺跨入初春的小花園，一切正在蓬勃地展望。寂寥的人會聞嗅自己手指的氣味，它記錄著他所做過的一切細節。

Smell

Hand-washed clothes smell after the cleanness of laundry soap.

White bed linen is drying in the sun. I put my face in it a hot Spa. I breathe in the warmth. It is an indulgence for both baby and soul.

An unknown lady passes by. Her long hair brushes my face, smelling decently after the blossom and grass green scent of the shampoo.

In The corridor of the apartment building, I smell other families cooking their dinners. The steam and food, reddish with pork in soja sauce. It makes me feel the abundance and security of family, warmth in a cold winter evening.

Dad once wore the sweater. Its neckline will always carry his smell.

In my childhood, on a summer afternoon, a storm just stopped. There was the smell of rather and plants in the air, rather sharp and spicy.

Every man has their individual smell, especially in the skin area behind their ears, and in their neck.

When people are in love, the fusion of the man’s and the smell makes the smell of their love. When the couple separate, so do their smells. Recognizing the other one’s smell at a sudden moment makes them realize that they are no longer together. When they are almost about to forget, the smell can call back the memories all at once.

New cloth has its unique smell.

Freshly cut grass has a distinguished smell.

The cold air in a winter night has its smell.

Babies wear the smell if the mother milk.

In the moonlight, the night fog gives its smell.

Flowers have their unmistakable smell: winter cherry blossom (Lamei) after snow, lotus in a summer night, and all the fragrant white blossoms-Jasmine, Magnolia, Gardenia, Crane Flowers (Hosta, YUZAN). Night Blooming Cereus (Tanhua) – all give their unique charming scent.

In sentimental moments, we smell the dust, the wind, the frost, the harmony of heaven and earth.

A lonely person sometime smells his fingers. The smell of the finger records-like a journal-all the details of the day.

調香師的世界

作為新人，我才剛步入調香師的世界，但這個世界已經向我展示了其無窮而獨特得魅力：

調香師可以運用各種香料，調配出獨特的、令人如痴如醉的香氣。經過他們精湛的調香技巧，即使是各種聞起來粗造的，似乎無法融合的香味，也可以很完美的結合在一起，昇華成一團優美動人的香氣。調香師可以是一名化學家，也可以是一名藝術家，更可以是一名魔術師。

很多人都會覺得調香是一種很浪漫的職業。其實非也，浪漫的外表是建立在淵博的專業知識之上，從化學到植物學，從歷史到地理學，從文學到心理學，集百家之博，聚百家之魂。

調香師的世界離我們的生活即近又遠，近，試問我們的生活四周充滿了各種香味，這些香氣包括與我們生活息息相關的各種食材香料或花卉植物。遠，是因為調香界的原料來源分佈在世界各地，某些特有品種只生長在特定地區，就例如香料界的乳香就只生產於索馬利亞及周邊的地區。所以很多時候，對於我們這些入門者來說，只能是一邊聞著香料，一邊看著圖片聯繫記憶了，缺乏一種親身的嗅覺體驗。但所謂的近或遠，有時候是能夠自我改變的。有些人整天和花草打交道，卻對它們一無所知，有些人卻能夠深入了解。其區別就在於好奇心。好奇心能夠把我們與調香師的世界距離拉近，讓我們更了解他們的行為模式和感受大自然給予的恩賜。好奇心也是成為一名好的調香師的基本素質之ㄧ。

調香師的工作不簡單，相反還非常複雜。不過一但你沉浸其中，就會被他們這個世界的獨特魅力所吸引，享受其中無盡的樂趣。

Perfumer’s world

I entered the perfumer’s world not long age，but this world has continued showing me its tremendous and unique charm：

Perfumer, with his fantasy skill, can create a fragrance that catches all people’s noses and makes them fall in love with it. Perfumer can be a scientist, or an artist, or even a magician.

Most of people think that the job of perfumer must be very romantic and wonderful. In fact, this kind of romance is base on the keen knowledge of a large variety of fragrance ingredients and their smells. Moreover, knowledge of chemistry, botany, history, geography, psychology and even literature are crucial.

Perfumer’s world is close to our life，but also far away from ours. It is close to us because the smelling is full of our life elements，from the food to the plants and flowers. We can smell it anytime anywhere. It is also far away from us because the fragrance materials are produces from all over the world where mostly you have never been to. In order to understand them well, you should travel countries to countries to smell and touch them by yourself. Otherwise, like me at the entry level, you can only imagine the smelling through the description by others and the pictures on the internet.

Being curious can help you to shorten the distance from perfumer world and it is one of the elements to become a qualified perfumer. With the curiosity, you will open your eyes and put your nose on smoothing interesting, especially for the natural world. And them you will have your own feeling and keep in mind well.

Perfumer’s work is very complex while many people think that it is easy and casual. It needs time and rich knowledge to support them. Although it is difficult and will take a long time to learn the perfumers’ knowledge, when you touch the perfumer’s world, you will find it colorful and wonderful, and you will fall in love with it.

Enjoy the perfumer’s world more. Enjoy your life more.
